Thesis and Introduction


The construction of the Lake Washington Floating Bridge, completed in 1940, was not only an engineering and technological feat of innovation due to its size and design but it also formed the first link between the Eastside and Seattle allowing the Puget Sound region to develop into the successfull area it is today.
